Heddle Shipyards has come a long way in the thirty plus years that we have been in business. Rick Heddle, the company’s founder and namesake has seen Heddle Marine Service Inc. grow from a business where he was the only employee to a company that now owns or operates the largest number of dry docks in Canada. Although Rick has seen many changes over the years, there are some constant and unwavering factors to the company’s success – mainly a core group of employees who have dedicated their careers to Heddle.

On October 2 nd 2019, Heddle Shipyards celebrated the 25 th anniversary of four of the most dedicated and hardworking gentlemen in the industry. From right to left; Mark Poss, Jim Ashley, John Alves and Thai Doan, have spent over two and a half decades perfecting their trades in the tough and challenging environment of Heddle’s Hamilton Shipyard.

Today, these men are the backbone of our operation, not only as senior leaders in the yard but as mentors and teachers to the next generation of Heddle employees. Mark, Jim, John and Thai’s contributions to Heddle’s success cannot be understated, and their impact moving forward will be immeasurable. As younger tradespeople enter our workforce, they will look to these four men for guidance, training and support. Heddle’s success for the past 25 years would not have been possible without Jim, John, Mark and Thai, and without them, our future would not be as bright.

Thank you for your dedicated service and we look forward to many more years together.
